Miss Frances Walker

Many of our older Alumni would remember Miss Walker (Baker) who taught in the Primary School during the early 70s. Sadly she passed away last month leaving behind husband Steve, four children and five grand-children.
Both her brothers, Greg (deceased) from 1969 and Laurie (1972) were also Daramalan boys and Fran’s son Oliver Baker graduated from the College in 2010.
Fran attended Catholic Girls High Braddon (now Merici) in the 60s, going on to study teaching at Signadou, Watson, along with another ex-Dara teacher Veronica Poole. She left teaching in her late twenties to study nursing and start her family. She will be sadly missed.
