Paul O’Callaghan (1974)

1974 School Captain Paul O’Callaghan died tragically in Sydney. He was just 65. The O’Callaghan family of four boys comprising John (‘68) James (‘71), Kieran (‘73) and Paul, made a huge impact to the College in our early years, with Paul not only outstanding in his Captain role, but across the football sporting arena as well, playing rugby in the 1st XV as well as cricket with the 2nd X1. In 1975 he was admitted to the CCAE (now University of Canberra) for teacher training and went on to a distinguished career which included working for Catholic Social Services Australia and then later as CEO of Caritas Australia from 2013 to 2019.
The O’Callaghan name lives on with numerous next generational family and cousins returning to the College across the mid 90s and 2000s. Vale Paul.
