Simon Woolrych (1971)

It is always tough to announce the death of another of our Alumni, especially one who devoted his life helping keep Australia secure. Simon Woolrych, Class of 1971, sadly passed away recently after a long illness.
At school Simon excelled both scholastically and in sport, including Rugby. After joining the Royal Australian Navy in 1972, he went on to a distinguished career attaining the rank of Captain with postings that included commander of guided missile destroyer HMAS HOBART.
Simon was part of a large naval family with his father, Rear Admiral Woolrych, Commander of the Australian Fleet in the 80’s.
RIP Simon, you will be sadly missed.
